New Flashing Lights To Be Installed At Local Schools

Member for Marrickville Carmel Tebbutt today welcomed the announcement by the Minister for Transport and Roads David Campbell that flashing lights are to be installed at two local schools.

Ms Tebbutt said flashing lights would be installed on Stanmore Road for students from Lewisham Public School and Christian Brother School, as well as on Toothill Street for Newington College Stanmore.

"It is great news for local families that flashing light will be installed at these schools reminding motorists to slow down and take care" Ms Tebbutt said.

"Children are our most vulnerable road users, and nothing is more important than their safety".

$1,159,000 To Support The Arts In Marrickville

Member for Marrickville, Carmel Tebbutt today welcomed $1,159,000 in Keneally Government grants for local arts initiatives.

Ms Tebbutt said the grants were among $11.3 million in project funding announced by Minister for Arts, Virginia Judge under the $42.7 million 2010 Arts Funding Program.

"I share Virginia’s determination that NSW remains the premier State for the creative industries," Ms Tebbutt said.

$75 million extension of NSW Home Saver Rebates program

The NSW Government today announced it will reward homeowners for installing hot water circulators and dual-flush toilets in a $75 million boost to the $100 million NSW Home Saver Rebates program.

Under the new NSW Home Saver Rebates, every NSW household is eligible for up to $1,500 worth of rebates and can now receive:

$150 for the installation of a regulated or on-demand hot water circulator unit – instantaneous gas hot water systems can waste up to 17,000 litres of water in the average home each year. A hot water circulator saves water by recirculating the cold water sitting in the hot water pipe back to the water heating system for use.  Read More... (PDF)

     

 

Minister for Climate Change and Environment visits River Red Gum communities

Minister for Climate Change and the Environment, Frank Sartor, will today visit the Riverina to meet local stakeholders over the future of the Riverina Red Gum Forests.

"The NSW Government will do what it can to protect the River Red Gums," Mr Sartor said.
